# Game Hosting Metrics > Hourly statistics on which networks (autonomous systems, ASNs) host the public game servers of Steam games, > and how that hosting share changes over time. 240 games tracked, every Steam game with public servers. Free, no login. ## Key facts (for quick answers) - Coverage: every Steam app with at least one populated server or 5+ listed servers (auto-discovered weekly). - Frequency: one snapshot per game at the top of every hour, UTC. History is kept indefinitely. - Metrics: servers and players per network per game; share of a game; change vs the start of a range. - Bot farms: an IP advertising 40+ copies of one game with duplicated names (or 200+ empty entries) is flagged, counted, never removed. - Steam relay: servers behind Steam Datagram Relay are grouped under "Steam relay" because their real host is hidden. ## What the numbers are - Source: the public Steam server browser (Steam Web API IGameServersService/GetServerList), sampled every hour. - Each server's IP address is mapped to its network (ASN) using public BGP routing data (iptoasn.com). - Numbers are exactly what Steam lists, including fake "bot farm" servers; games with many of those are flagged. - "Steam relay" means servers behind Steam Datagram Relay (Valve's official servers and some community servers) whose real host is hidden. ## Pages - https://gamehostingmetrics.com/ : all games, top networks, share, changes over 24h/7d/30d/90d/1y/custom. - https://gamehostingmetrics.com/game/ : one game (e.g. /game/252490 for Rust). - https://gamehostingmetrics.com/asn/ : one network across all games (e.g. /asn/16276 for OVHcloud). ## JSON API (free, no key) - /api/games ; /api/timeseries?appid=all&range=7d ; /api/changes?appid=730&range=30d ; /api/asn/16276?range=30d ; /api/asn/search?q=hetzner Contact: Discord https://discord.gg/75jzF8YFGU
